Job summary

The Boeing Company seeks a Senior Project Engineer (Prime Engineer) to lead engineering efforts on the B-52 Commercial Engine Replacement Program in Oklahoma City. The B-52J Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP) is looking for a Senior Project Engineer (Prime Engineer) to join our team and make an immediate impact on our programs in Oklahoma City.

This is a high visibility role with technical assignments that directly support the Program’s top-level goals, initiatives, and challenges. The project engineer provides the Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and USAF customers. You will develop statements of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements. You will work with USAF customers and management to obtain approval, identify and manage changes to statement of work and assess the impact of those changes, and incorporate changes into statements of work.

You will have responsibility to coordinate proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules. Directs proposal development to complete the work statement and identifies corrective actions to improve project or team performance. You provide technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans and lead project execution to complete the work statement. You will have opportunities to lead and collaborate with people from all over the world, to create and deliver innovative solutions to complex technical problems.

Position Responsibilities

Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 10+ years of experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating statements of work
  • 10+ years of experience representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources
  • 10+ years of experience with USG proposals
  • 5+ years of experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating statements of work and proposals on EMD programs
  • 5+ years of experience with Bomber modifications and/or upgrades
  • Ability to travel 10% - primarily domestic. There may be short duration where travel needs exceed this value.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Experience working across a team representing multiple skill areas with internal and external resources and customers is preferred
  • Experience with complex systems development and integration preferred Experience with leading project execution to complete the work statement is preferred
  • Experience with implementation and maintenance of systems engineering tools, schedules and metrics (i.e. Earned value management, DOORs, CAMEO)
  • Good communication skills and a self-starter that takes initiatives without supervision
  • Adaptable and able to operate in a dynamic environment to meet objectives on time
  • Certification and/or experience working with Mil-Hdbk-516 Project Management exposure / experience (e.g., Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI/PMI 99-001-2008)
  • Ability to quickly analyze, understand, organize and communicate complex technical concepts/problems across multiple disciplines
