Senior Project Engineer

Complete Technology Services (CTS) is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team!

CTS is a leading managed service provider supporting the technology needs of businesses across the Midwest. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering complex IT infrastructure solutions, mentoring technical staff, and driving innovation across client environments.

Position Overview

- Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of advanced IT infrastructure solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.

- Serve as a technical advisor and escalation point for complex issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

- Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

- Architect and deploy secure, scalable network environments including servers, firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless access points.

- Maintain detailed and real-time documentation of all support activities in the CTS ticketing system.

- Collaborate with leadership to define technical standards, best practices, and project roadmaps.

- Mentor and coach junior engineers and support technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.

- Participate in strategic planning and client consultations to align technology solutions with business goals.

- Perform other duties as assigned in support of CTSs mission and client success.

Qualifications

- 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, with a proven track record of leading complex deployments.

- Expertise in configuring and maintaining virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).

- Advanced knowledge of networking technologies including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and routing protocols.

- Proficiency in core infrastructure services: DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policy, and TCP/IP.

- Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to streamline operations and deployments.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and team collaboration abilities.

- Strong organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills.

- Experience with SQL Server administration is a plus.

- Valid drivers license required.

Physical Demands

- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs occasionally.

- Frequent standing, sitting, or walking as tasks demand.

- Occasional travel to client sites within and outside the Kansas City metro area.

- Availability for after-hours and weekend work as needed.

- Participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation may be required.

Education & Certifications

- Associate or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field .

- Industry certifications strongly :

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect / MCSE

- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
