Job summary

Skanska is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join the Project Management Team in delivering critical facilities, including cleanrooms and mission‑critical plants. The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and cost‑effective project control across stages from planning to closeout.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in construction documentation, subcontract management, and cost control, plus a relevant degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience creating RFIs and client correspondence on contract provisions.
  • Ability to read plans and specs and outline required submittals.
  • Experience preparing subcontract scopes and contracts.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical facility construction.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee project to ensure timely, cost‑effective outcomes.
  • Budget, organize, implement and schedule project activities.
  • Ensure work is safe and compliant with laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with PM team on centralized delivery of complex projects.

The Senior Project Engineer works within the Project Management Team which is responsible for planning and overseeing the project to ensure a timely and cost-effective outcome. This includes budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of the project. Ensure the project is constructed in a safe, ethical manner and in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. The Project Management Team can vary greatly depending on the size and complexity of the projects, which in turn will affect the number of responsibilities the Senior Project Engineer will be involved in.

Candidates with experience working in cleanroom environments and supporting complex manufacturing, process, and mission-critical facility projects will be highly regarded.

Senior Project Engineer Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ Years of experience creating documentation such as RFIs, and client correspondence on issues related to the notification provisions in contracts.
  • 3+ years of reading and understanding construction plans and drawings and the technical specifications associated with drawings. Able to outline specifications required for submission to clients and ensure submittals and shop drawings are approved.
  • 2+ years preparing subcontract scopes and contracts.
  • 2+ years experience with project close out.
  • 2+ years experience supporting semiconductor, advanced technology, microchip manufacturing, cleanroom, and/or other mission-critical facility construction projects.
  • 1+ years working with cost control systems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 3 years prior relevant experience.
