Job summary

Ingredion Incorporated in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Sr Project Engineer to lead capital and process-improvement projects across operations. You will manage scope, cost, and schedule, develop process designs, P&IDs, and control strategies while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You are a collaborative leader who uses data-driven insights to deliver measurable benefits, partnering with Maintenance, Reliability, Finance, and cross-functional teams to optimize productivity and reduce costs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Considerable experience in project, process, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience leading complex capital projects in industrial/manufacturing/food environments.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with cross-functional teams, budgets, schedules, contractors, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, design, budgeting, and execution of multiple complex projects on scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Develop engineering designs, P&IDs, material/energy balances, and control strategies.
  • Use PMIS and governance processes to monitor performance and KPIs.
  • Identify process improvements and innovative solutions to boost productivity and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance & Reliability for shutdowns, planning, and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and safety expectations.
