We're seeking an experienced Senior Project Developer to lead the development of complex Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS), energy infrastructure modernization, and decarbonization projects for commercial and institutional clients across North America.
This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for taking projects from opportunity qualification through commercial close by integrating engineering, energy analytics, financial modeling, commercial strategy, and client engagement. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to executive-level customers while working closely with business development, engineering, finance, construction, legal, and operations teams to deliver investment-grade solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the development of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects from concept through contract execution.
- Develop technically sound, financially viable solutions that align with customer goals and operational requirements.
- Direct energy audits, facility assessments, engineering studies, and investment‑grade analyses.
- Review and validate energy savings calculations, equipment selection, lifecycle cost analyses, financial models, and project economics.
- Present technical and financial solutions to executive leadership and key decision makers.
- Lead proposal development, implementation strategies, and commercial presentations.
- Identify technical, commercial, financial, and execution risks while developing mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, finance, legal, and project management teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Mentor junior project developers and engineers while helping improve project development processes and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, Architectural, or Civil Engineering (Master's degree a plus).
- 10+ years of experience in project development, ESCOs, energy engineering, design‑build, infrastructure modernization, or Energy‑as‑a‑Service.
- Experience developing projects involving HVAC modernization, building automation systems, central utility plants, distributed generation, renewable energy, water conservation, electrification, or other energy conservation measures.
- Strong financial modeling and business case development skills, including lifecycle cost analysis, ROI, NPV, and project economics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and present complex technical solutions to executive and C‑suite stakeholders.

- Professional Engineer (PE) (bonus but not required)
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
- Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP)
- Building Energy Assessment Professional (BEAP) (preferred)
