Job summary

Michael Hsu Office of Architecture seeks an experienced Project Designer/Architect to join the Houston office as an Associate. The role combines design leadership with hands-on project delivery, client interaction, and team mentorship in a hybrid setting.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of architectural experience, leads projects across all phases, and collaborates with cross-disciplinary teams. Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional architectural experience, including leadership roles.
• Ability to commute to Houston office a minimum of three days a week.
• Proven ability to lead projects and teams across design and construction phases.
• Architectural licensure not required, but preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural projects from concept through construction while staying actively involved in the design process.
• Balance design excellence with client expectations, schedules, and budgets to achieve outcomes.
• Oversee teams of architects, designers, and consultants across disciplines.
• Provide design direction, technical guidance, feedback, and mentorship to project teams.
• Lead complex, high-visibility projects with minimal oversight and contribute to documentation and coordination.
• Represent the office to clients and the market, building strong client relationships.
