Job summary

LHH in Houston is seeking a Cost Controller / Project Accountant to support budgeting, forecasting, job costing, and financial reporting across multiple large-scale projects.

You will monitor project budgets, costs, and forecasts, perform reconciliations and variance analysis, review pay applications and invoices, and collaborate with project teams to deliver timely financial insight and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project accounting, cost control, or operational finance experience.
• Background in construction, engineering, infrastructure, industrial, or project-based environments preferred.
• Experience with job costing, project budgets, and reconciliations.
• Exposure to pay applications, subcontractors, invoicing, and purchase orders.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project budgets, costs, and forecasts
• Perform reconciliations, variance analysis, and cost tracking
• Review pay applications, invoices, subcontractor billings, and purchase orders
• Support cash flow reporting and project financials
• Track change orders and project cost impacts
• Partner with Project Managers and operations teams to provide financial insight
• Assist with process improvements and reporting initiatives
