K&A Power Group in Westwood, MA is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to design and oversee a global Project Controls, Program Management, and MIS system for large projects. The role focuses on cost and resource management, risk mitigation, and integration with Finance and PMO teams.

Candidates should have 15+ years in electric utility or related fields, a engineering or construction management degree, advanced Excel skills, and experience with capital investment models.

Qualifications

• 15 years of progressive-related electric utility or related industry experience (transmission facilities construction management preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the installation and implementation of a Project Controls, Program Management, and MIS system on a global/company-wide basis.
• Develop Resource Management and Cost Management protocols, Resource Needs Analysis and Optimization strategies, Work Breakdown, Cost Breakdown, and Organizational Breakdown Structures.

Senior Project Controls Specialist must be capable of designing and overseeing the installation and implementation of a Project Controls, Program Management, and Management Information System on a global, company-wide basis, or for a very large project or program. Understands the ‘big picture’ objectives of the client’s long-range capital investment and program needs.
Will develop Resource Management and Cost Management protocols, Resource Needs Analysis and Optimization strategies, Work Breakdown, Cost Breakdown, and Organizational Breakdown Structures.
Assists Client with Development and Implementation of Industry Best Practices, Strategic Planning, and Training/Mentoring.

What we’re looking for:

• A minimum of Fifteen (15) years of progressive-related electric utility or other related industry experience, with transmission facilities construction management experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent 15 years of relevant experience is recommended.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting capabilities.
• Experience with utility capital investment business models is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated financial management experience, including:
  • Cash flow forecasting and management for capital projects, including both internal labor and contractor-supported work.
  • Purchase Order (PO) financial tracking and oversight.
  • Financial risk assessment and mitigation to support achievement of investment objectives.
  • Capital portfolio financial planning, monitoring, and performance management.
  • Identification, evaluation, and communication of financial risks and opportunities.
• Strong data management, analysis, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams, particularly between Project Management and Financial Management organizations.
• Experience preparing and delivering executive and leadership-level reporting, including financial performance, portfolio status, risks, and investment outcomes

Pay Range: $130,000-$150,000/yearly
