Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support services projects across locations in the U.S., including international work. You will develop complex schedule and cost baselines, analyze variances, and implement forecasting and risk management processes.

The role emphasizes Earned Value Management, cost control, and collaboration with project teams, while maintaining compliance with federal/government regulations and safety standards. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; 5 years of related experience preferred.
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and large-scale projects.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and documents; develop WBS and schedules.
• Strong scheduling, cost forecasting, and resource planning capabilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain time-phased project cost and resource forecasts.
• Analyze schedule progress, productivity, and variances; update forecasts accordingly.
• Prepare and communicate cost status and trends to stakeholders.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior staff and supervise analysts.
• Ensure adherence to internal procedures and safety protocols.
