Job summary

DNV in Houston is seeking a Senior Project Controller to join the regional Project Controlling team. You will partner with Project Managers to optimize financial performance, manage full-cycle project accounting, and ensure contractual compliance.

The role offers a hybrid work schedule with three in-office days per week at a DNV or client site. The candidate will oversee revenue recognition under IFRS 15, WIP, and close processes, collaborating across PMs, Business Controllers, and Shared

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or related discipline is required.
• Strong knowledge of project financial management and project management principles.
• Quality-driven mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
• Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and a structured approach to work.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence and collaborate.
• Pre-employment drug and background screenings are conducted.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and report on project financial performance; provide actionable insights.
• Proactively initiate accurate and timely invoicing per contracts and procedures.
• Serve as a strategic business partner to Project and Line Managers, leading monthly financial reviews.
• Ensure revenue recognition aligns with IFRS 15 and project accounting principles.
• Engage PMs on required change orders and validate inputs.
• Lead monthly project review meetings and oversee expenditure checks and follow-up actions.
• Maintain accurate project financial records and monitor lifecycle progress.
• Oversee Work in Progress (WIP) balances and minimize exposure.
• Escalate high-risk items to Business Controllers as needed.
• Support time-card compliance and supplier invoice workflows.
