Job summary

RDC, an established architecture firm, seeks a Project Architect to work in person in its Washington DC office on retail and commercial projects. The candidate will lead contract documents, coordinate specifications, and supervise the project team.

The role requires licensure in the local state, a related architecture degree, and strong skills in AutoCAD/REVIT with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and deliver successful outcomes on complex projects.

Qualifications

• Architectural licensure in the state where the office is located is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited program is preferred.
• 8 or more years of experience in architectural practice preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of architectural detailing and current construction standards.
• Extensive experience translating concept design into contract documents.
• Experience with agency review and permitting processes.
• Experience in contract administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of contract documents and coordinate specifications.
• Supervise and guide project team throughout design and documentation phases.
• Communicate effectively with clients and development teams.
• Collaborate on design-build or design-assist delivery methods.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and permitting processes.
