Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. in California seeks a Senior Project Architect / Project Manager to lead architectural teams for federal defense and aviation projects from our San Diego or Sacramento offices.

The role emphasizes design, coordination, budgets, and client collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams. The candidate should have a architecture degree, a professional license, and substantial project leadership experience, with travel up to 25% as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in architecture from an accredited college or university.
• Architectural license is required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects, lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary in-house and sub-consultant teams.
• Build strong client relationships and work with partners in design-build.
• Schedule and facilitate team meetings and present to clients and AHJs.
• Prepare contract documents, drawings and specifications.
• Oversee budgets, staffing, and project schedules; monitor progress.
• Provide QA/QC reviews for assigned projects and mentor junior staff.
• Travel to project sites as needed and participate in client meetings.
