Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking a Senior Project Architect / Project Manager to lead architectural teams for federal defense and aviation projects in San Diego or Sacramento, CA. The role emphasizes strong leadership, client relations, and delivering high-quality construction documents.

You will mentor junior staff, oversee budgets and schedules, and coordinate with contractors and AHJs. Travel is expected, with eligibility for multidisciplinary collaboration across offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in architecture from an accredited college or university.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Architectural license is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams and coordinate multi-disciplinary in-house and sub-consultant staff.
• Build strong client relationships and interface with design-build partners.
• Schedule and facilitate team meetings and coordinate reviews.
• Prepare contract documents, drawings, and specs.
• Monitor budgets and schedules, forecast workloads, manage QA/QC.
• Mentor junior staff and act as a lead technical resource.
• Visit sites and oversee construction administration.
• Attend client meetings and help develop proposals.
