Job summary

Northern Impact is seeking a Project Architect / Senior Architectural Designer in Downtown Los Angeles for a hands-on leadership role. You will guide projects from design through construction, stay actively involved in Revit production, design development, technical detailing, and documentation, and maintain close collaboration with the founder and principal architect.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10–12 or more years of professional architectural experience.
• Architectural licensure is preferred but not required.
• Experience with residential and commercial projects, including workplace and tenant improvement interiors.
• Adaptive reuse and education experience are beneficial.
• Strong Revit proficiency and a willingness to remain hands-on throughout the project process.
• Demonstrated experience managing architectural projects, consultants, schedules, and deliverables.
• Strong technical detailing, documentation, and constructability skills.
• Knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, consultant coordination, and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to projects across residential, commercial interiors, adaptive reuse, workplace, and education.
• Collaborate with the Principal Architect to develop thoughtful, creative, and technically sound design solutions.
• Manage assigned projects, priorities, schedules, and deliverables.
• Serve as a professional and responsive point of contact for clients.
• Coordinate effectively with engineering consultants, contractors, vendors, and outsourced production staff.
• Establish project schedules, communicate priorities clearly, and maintain progress toward deadlines.
• Remain actively involved in Revit production, design development, technical detailing, and documentation.
• Prepare and review drawing sets for design quality, technical accuracy, consultant coordination, code compliance, permitting, and construction.
• Provide clear direction and markups to outsourced drafting support.
