Job summary

Environmental Research Group, LLC (ERG) is seeking a full-time Senior Project Archaeologist to lead CRM projects for federal and state clients across the eastern, midwestern, and southeastern United States. The role combines project management, field direction, report preparation, and client coordination.

Candidates based in North Carolina, Virginia, or within a half-day drive of Charlotte, North Carolina, are preferred.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field.
Experience leading CRM field crews and managing project deliverables.
Knowledge of Section 106, NEPA, and state archaeological guidelines applicable to project states.

Responsibilities

Lead archaeological projects from kickoff through final deliverable, including scope, schedule, budget, staffing, field execution, documentation, and closeout.
Direct Phase I surveys, Phase II testing/evaluation, monitoring, and related field investigations.
Coordinate mobilizations, safety planning, daily production, data quality, and communication with teams and clients.
Prepare and contribute to technical reports, regulatory documents, research designs, and scopes of work.
Review field records, GIS data, analyses, and products for completeness and compliance with standards.
