Job summary

Geneva Search Partners LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Project Accountant to join a growing construction team in Lexington, Kentucky. This role oversees financial operations for large-scale projects, including cost reporting, billing, subcontract administration, and cash flow management.

The ideal candidate will have strong construction accounting experience and the ability to work independently while supporting project management and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
• Minimum 4+ years of construction accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of project cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue recognition.
• Experience with owner billings, subcontract administration, lien waivers, and cash flow management.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review and process subcontracts, change orders, and bonds to ensure contract compliance.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier lien waivers, invoices, and payment processing.
• Ensure accurate project cost coding, accruals, and cost report maintenance.
• Prepare, analyze, and submit monthly project P&Ls and financial reports.
• Process project cost transfers and accounting adjustments.
• Prepare, review, and submit owner billings and related documentation.
• Monitor project cash flow, accounts receivable, and collections.
• Partner with project teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance.
• Oversee accounting activities for large-scale or multiple construction projects.
• Support month-end close, audits, and other project accounting functions.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to project and operational leadership.
