Job description

Job Title: Senior Programmer/Analyst - CRM Systems

Department: IT/Application Engineering

Location: Remote

Reports To: System Architect - CRM Systems

Supervises: None

Context: At the Sierra Club, we believe in the power of interdependence. Together, we remain committed to the fight for a healthy climate built on a foundation of environmental, racial, economic, and gender justice – a future where all people benefit from a healthy, thriving planet and a direct connection to nature. As the climate crisis and deeply entrenched systemic racism all fuel injustice, we will continue to fight for a bold, transformational agenda that recognizes the interconnectedness between our planet, our humanity, and our future. By recognizing that our destinies are tied, we continue to name that all things are fundamentally connected, and the overlap between ecology, race, gender, and representative government will move to either advance our collective humanity or to oppress it. Sierra Club has close to 800 staff across the country and a network of 64 local chapters that are led and fueled by thousands of volunteers. We are also proud to be a unionized employer, with three labor unions representing more than half of our employees.

Scope: Under the direction of the team leadership, the Senior Programmer/Analyst - CRM Systems works with business units and other IT staff to identify, define and implement business and technical requirements, integrate systems, develop system enhancements, web services, and other products, ensuring that CRM systems and related products interoperate with existing systems consistent with the Club’s overall technical architecture. The Senior Programmer/Analyst – CRM Systems also works with key vendors to assess products and product functions, resolve product problems, and influence product direction. 3. Synthesizing data insights. The Senior Programmer/Analyst - CRM Systems delivers reports, dashboards and other business intelligence products to internal stakeholders, as well as for the purpose of ongoing system monitoring.

  4. Contributing to architectural strategy. The Senior Programmer/Analyst - CRM Systems works with team leadership to define, implement and improve the architectural standards supporting our CRM systems.

  5. Continuing professional and team development. The Senior Programmer/Analyst - CRM Systems stays current with Salesforce and relevant technologies, so that our CRM systems remain compatible, relevant, and strategic.
