The position is full-time, exempt, hybrid, requiring Bay Area residency and travel to Oakland as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in community organizing, power building, and movement work rooted in BIPOC communities.
  • Experience with community ownership models (land trusts, worker cooperatives, community funds).
  • Experience with small business funding and support.
  • Strong grantmaking experience and donor engagement skills.
  • Excellent persuasive communication for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Build and refine grantmaking strategies focused on economic power building.
  • Co-lead grantmaking and programmatic approaches with a Program Officer.
  • Launch redesigned small business support program and grant fund.
  • Support policy campaigns and grassroots lobbying.
  • Manage grants portfolios and consultant contracts.
  • Engage with grantees using Trust-Based Philanthropy principles.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to inform strategy and learning goals.
  • Organize convenings for grantees, funders, and stakeholders.
