Job summary

Holtec International in Camden, NJ invites a Senior Program Manager to lead the PM function for SMR components projects, guiding multiple concurrent programs from planning through delivery and ensuring NRC compliance.

You will establish governance, manage budgets and schedules, collaborate with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, licensing, and quality teams, and mentor PM staff while traveling ~10%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • 12+ years of PM/program management experience in nuclear, EPC, energy, manufacturing, construction, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Experience leading PMOs or organizations managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong understanding of PM methodologies, governance, and best practices.
  • Expertise in planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and risk management.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries (nuclear, power generation, energy).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project management function for fabricated and procured SMR components supporting the Nuclear Island.
  • Establish and maintain PM governance, processes, reporting structures, and performance metrics.
  • Oversee Project Managers responsible for planning, execution, and delivery of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Standardize project execution plans, schedules, budgets, risk management processes, and reporting methodologies.
  • Partner with Project Controls to align scheduling, forecasting, cost management, and performance measurement.
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, licensing, and quality organizations.
  • Identify and manage cross-project risks, interfaces, dependencies, and execution challenges.
  • Provide program-level visibility into performance including schedule status, budget, risks, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Support PMs in resolving technical, commercial, supplier, and execution-related issues.
  • Ensure NRC compliance, quality standards, safety expectations, and applicable project procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on delivery excellence and efficiency.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop PM personnel; support workforce planning and resource allocation.
  • Travel approximately 10% as required.

Primary Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 12 years of project management, program management, or project delivery experience within nuclear, EPC, energy, manufacturing, construction, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading project management organizations responsible for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, governance, and best practices.
  • Proven expertise in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and risk management.
  • Experience working within highly regulated industries, preferably nuclear, power generation, or energy-related sectors.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to establish discipline, accountability, and standardization across complex project teams.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations and nuclear industry requirements.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent credential.
  • Experience supporting small modular reactor (SMR) programs, advanced reactor development, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar project management and scheduling tools.
  • Strong understanding of EPC project execution, fabrication management, supplier oversight, procurement, and construction processes.
  • Experience establishing or leading Project Management Offices (PMOs) or enterprise project management frameworks.
  • Experience managing major component fabrication, procurement, and delivery programs in a regulated environment.
Compensation
  • Annual compensation based on skills and experience ranging from $140,000 to $165,000.
