Job summary

Saab is seeking a Principal Program Manager to lead profitable development programs from Saab's East Syracuse, NY office. The role requires deep radar systems domain knowledge and extensive PM experience in aerospace/defense.

You will drive budgets, EVMS reporting, and program execution while pursuing new business opportunities and competitive proposals with Sales and Product teams. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Program Management experience in aerospace/defense.
• Extensive experience negotiating multi-million dollar agreements with large Aerospace and Defense customers.
• Demonstrated track record leading large scale aerospace and defense business capture efforts.
• Must possess advanced knowledge of program management standards (scheduling, cost accounting, EVMS, Risk/Opportunity management).
• Ability to contribute to development strategy and lead strategic initiatives.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% in support of program and business.

Responsibilities

• Specifically accountable for cost, schedule and technical performance of assigned program portfolios.
• Establish and control program budgets aligned with program needs.
• Ensure all projects are managed within approved program management processes.
• Make personnel recommendations in support of business objectives.
• Drive Earned Value Management principles and use EVMS to report program status.
• Identify and pursue significant new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with Sales and Product Management to maintain competitive knowledge.
• Develop high-quality competitive proposals for objective achievement.
• Collaborate across functions to leverage execution and capture strategies.
• Grow customer relationships and identify new deployment of Saab technology.
• Provide leadership to program execution staff for high-quality delivery.
• Monitor and mentor junior PMs; support talent development.
