Job summary

Mercer Engineering Research Center in Warner Robins, GA, seeks a seasoned Program Manager to plan, staff, and manage complex contracts in compliance with MERC standards. You will maintain a detailed schedule and coordinate with the Sr.

Director of Engineering, Chief Engineers, and Technical Leads to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery. The role requires DoD clearance eligibility, citizenship, and an ABET engineering degree (or business degree with substantial related experience), plus PMP

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
• Undergrad degree in business-related field with 10 years related experience OR engineering degree from ABET accredited college with 7 years related experience.
• PMP Certification mandatory.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, staff, and manage assigned programs per MERC Standard Processes and maintain an up-to-date schedule for the contract life cycle.
• Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Engineering, Technical Directors, Chief Engineers, and Technical Leads to ensure contracts are executed within budget and scope.
• Provide programmatic and technical reviews to management stakeholders.
• Assist capture with development of new business proposal responses as needed.
• Encourage project personnel to identify follow-on opportunities and communicate them to leadership.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Sr. Director of Engineering and Programs, Technical Directors, Chief Engineers, and Technical Leads to plan, staff, and manage assigned programs according to and in compliance with MERC Standard Processes, to include maintaining an up-to-date detailed programmatic/technical schedule for an assigned program throughout the life of the contract.


• Work with the Chief Engineer and Technical Lead to ensure the successful execution of assigned contracts within budget and scope, and in accordance with contract schedule.


• In concert with the Chief Engineer and Technical Lead, provide programmatic and technical reviews of assigned contracts to all management stakeholders.


• Assist responsible capture manager with development of new business proposal response, as needed.


• Encourage assigned contract personnel to recommend potential program follow-on and/or tangential future business opportunities and provide those recommendations to the Technical Director and the Director of Acquisition Strategy.

Required Qualifications:

• US Citizenship.


• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.


• An undergraduate degree in a business-related field and 10 years of directly related experience or an engineering degree from an ABET accredited college or university and 7 years directly related experience.


• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.


• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
