Job description

At Engine, we’re transforming business travel into something personalized, rewarding, and simple. For too long, managing travel and spend has been overwhelming and fragmented — we’re here to change that. We believe the future of travel should be seamless and powered by technology that delights customers at every step. That’s why we’re building a platform that brings together corporate travel, a powerful charge card, and modern spend management in one place.

To make this vision real, we’re looking for exceptional, mission-driven people to help redefine how businesses manage and experience travel.

More than 30,000 companies already rely on Engine to support over 1 million travelers and billions in annual bookings each year. Cash flow positive with rapid growth, we pair exclusive Engine-only rates, industry-leading rewards, and intelligent automation to help businesses save money while delivering world-class personalization and convenience.

Backed by Telescope Partners, Blackstone, and Permira, Engine has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing travel and fintech platforms in North America, with honors including the Deloitte Fast 500 and Built In’s Best Places to Work.

About the Role

At Engine, we're transforming business travel — and doing it with unparalleled speed, heart, and hustle. Our most important work is always in motion, and it needs operators who can keep the engine running fast — and fix what's breaking before anyone else notices it's broken.

As a Senior Program Manager, you own team outcomes across a complex initiative. You're highly skilled at what you do, and you bring that specialization to bear on situations that don't come with a manual. You diagnose unusual problems through sophisticated analysis, adapt proven methods when playbooks run out, and communicate with the kind of clarity that earns credibility with peers and senior stakeholders alike.

You’ll sit within our centralized Business Operations function — a pool of PGMs deployed where the work is hardest. You drive your work independently, syncing to check quality and alignment rather than waiting for direction. When something is complex or genuinely novel, you engage the right people — not because you need to be told what to do, but because you weigh context carefully and know when a second perspective adds value.

What You’ll Do
  • Own initiative outcomes end-to-end — and begin taking on responsibility outside your immediate lane when the work demands it.
  • Diagnose complex, ambiguous situations using deep knowledge in your area — assessing root cause and resolving a wide range of issues through creative problem‑solving.
  • Adapt protocol when needed — you apply proven methods in novel situations, not just when the playbook applies.
  • Drive work independently, syncing regularly to check quality and alignment — you manage your own pace and elevate with context, not confusion.
  • Critically weigh context, data, and trade-offs to make smart decisions that support team goals — you interpret thoughtfully before you act.
  • Communicate with clarity and precision — you adapt your messaging across teams to reduce misalignment and move work forward, and you help teammates navigate uncertainty or conflict with confidence.
  • Earn credibility with peers and senior collaborators through consistent, high-quality delivery — your reputation is built on follow-through.
  • Identify AI and automation opportunities within your domain — you test, iterate, and build toward repeatable approaches with confidence, distinguishing genuine leverage from marginal improvement.
What We’re Looking For
  • Deep program management experience with meaningful XFN ownership — you've driven complex initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholder groups, and your track record shows it.
  • Sophisticated analytical and problem‑solving ability — you assess ambiguous situations through deep specialization and resolve issues creatively when standard approaches don't fit.
  • Independent operator with sound judgment — you drive your work without being asked, sync proactively, and engage others when the situation is genuinely complex or novel.
  • Clear, direct communicator — you adapt messaging across audiences, write and speak with precision, and provide thoughtful input that helps others navigate difficult situations.
  • Strong cross‑functional instincts — you earn credibility with peers and senior collaborators through delivery, not just relationship‑building.
  • AI‑curious and action‑oriented — you identify where automation creates real leverage in your domain and build toward repeatable approaches.
  • High‑growth tech or SaaS experience preferred.

Applications for this role will be accepted through 11/11/26 or until the role is filled. We encourage you to apply early, as we may begin reviewing applications before the deadline.
