Job summary

Stephenson Cancer Center is seeking a Senior Program Manager to drive translational research initiatives. You will partner with investigators and staff to develop programs, manage grants, and ensure regulatory compliance across clinical and translational studies.

The role reports to the Associate Director of Translational Research and focuses on coordinating complex projects, improving systems, and guiding researchers through institutional requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required and 36 months of program administration or related experience.
• Equivalency: 72 months of related experience allowed in lieu of Master's degree.
• Background check required; valid driver's license may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead program development and improvements for clinical/translational research.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary projects across investigators and staff.
• Prepare and manage grant-related documents and reports.
• Develop workflows to improve efficiency and compliance.
• Support PRMC and IRB processes and timelines.
• Monitor milestones and regulatory requirements for success.
• Advise investigators on research requirements and center resources.
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to grow programs.
• Identify opportunities to streamline research support services.

We are seeking a strategic, collaborative, and highly motivated Senior Program Manager to join our Translational Research team. In this impactful role, you will serve as a key partner to investigators and research leaders, helping drive the development, implementation, and administration of programs that accelerate scientific discovery and improve patient outcomes.

Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Translational Research, the Senior Program Manager will play a pivotal role in coordinating complex research initiatives, supporting grant and regulatory processes, developing research support systems, and guiding investigators through cancer center resources and research requirements.

What You'll Do

• Lead strategic program development, implementation, and continuous improvement efforts supporting clinical and translational research activities.
• Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary research projects across investigators, research staff, and institutional partners.
• Support preparation and management of grant-related documentation, reports, and research administration activities.
• Develop and maintain systems, workflows, and processes that enhance research efficiency and compliance.
• Facilitate coordination of Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee (PRMC) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes.
• Monitor project timelines, milestones, deliverables, and regulatory requirements to ensure successful program execution.
• Serve as a trusted resource for investigators, helping them navigate institutional research requirements, policies, and cancer center resources.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen research infrastructure and promote program growth.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness and streamline research support services.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives that advance the cancer center's translational research mission.

Required Education and Experience:

• Master's degree.
• 36 months of program administration or related experience.

Equivalency/Substitution:

Will accept 72 months of related experience in lieu of the Master's degree for a total of 108 months of related experience.

• Valid Driver's License

Department Preferences

• PhD in Biological Sciences, Oncology, Computational Science, or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting clinical and translational research programs within an academic medical center, cancer center, or research institution.
• Familiarity with grant development and administration.
• Experience working with IRB, PRMC, protocol development, and regulatory documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to develop research infrastructure, operational systems, and investigator support programs.
