Job summary

AutoStore is expanding its Atlanta, GA R&D office and seeks a Senior Program Manager to lead end-to-end programs from concept to market. You will coordinate with Norway-based NPD and engineering teams to drive incubation and new product development, balancing scope, cost and timelines across time zones.

You will bring seven+ years in complex robotics programs, strong communication in English, and hands-on leadership to deliver high-impact products from Atlanta.

Qualifications

• Must have seven+ years experience as a project manager or in product management/engineering of robotics/automated storage solutions.
• Experience managing multiple highly complex projects to support program delivery.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken); Norwegian is a plus.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Program Manager R&D with a strong background from product development to join our growing Program Management Team. This is a newly created position in our recently opened Atlanta, Georgia office, established to support the Incubation and New Product Development (NPD) teams within AutoStore's Product Business Unit (PBU). You will manage multiple simultaneous R&D projects from concept to market, working with our highly technology driven R&D and production teams to bring new products to market. The PBU's engineering organization is centered in Norway, and the depth of engagement with the Norway NPD and development teams will vary by program — on many, expect heavy collaboration throughout the development process. AutoStore’s deepest engineering and product knowledge sits in Norway, so success depends on strong working relationships across time zones and on drawing that expertise into the programs you run in Atlanta.

Your skill set should encompass structure, planning and setting direction, in combination with creativity, problem solving and great communication skills. You should enjoy being hands‑on with your deliverables.

AutoStore is the pioneer of robotic cube storage systems and is constantly evolving as a company. Today, there are over 250 employees at the Research & Development Department in AutoStore, spread across our headquarter in Nedre Vats, our locations in Oslo, and North America, including Atlanta.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the assigned projects and programs end to end
• Responsible for monitoring the delivery of scope, timelines, budget and quality throughout the projects
• Communicate and coordinate efficiently across departments, disciplines and stakeholders at both the Atlanta and Norway sites
• Partner closely with the Norway-based PBU NPD and engineering/development teams, who hold the core technical expertise, from concept through launch
• Drive Incubation and New Product Development programs based in Atlanta, including new product introductions run with the local team, serving as the site’s program management lead for the PBU
• Engage with external partners, manufacturers and suppliers
• Keep high focus on end product and reduce production and maintenance cost
• Develop a broad understanding of AutoStore’s products and services
• Understand the challenges and core needs of our customers
• Travel at least quarterly onsite to Norway for close project and program coordination with the Norway-based NPD and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in a technology discipline
• Minimum seven years’ work experience as a project manager, or in product management or engineering of robotics/automated storage solutions.
• In lieu of program manager experience, we will also consider candidates with at least seven years of experience developing complex products.
• Experience with managing multiple highly complex projects to support program delivery
• Preferably experience as a developer/engineer
• Desirable with PMI certification
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies is an advantage
• Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken
• Good communication skills in Norwegian are a plus
