Job summary

Washington Conservation Action in Seattle seeks a Forests, Fire, and Communities Senior Program Manager to lead ecological and community resilience to wildfire, promoting beneficial fire, Indigenous stewardship, science-based forest health treatments, and community resilience work through coalitions and agency collaboration.

The role involves advocacy, coordination with DNR and tribes, and building partnerships with local governments to implement a statewide strategy in a flexible hybrid work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, environment, or related field (or 5–8 years related experience).
  • Experience in wildfire policy, coalition work, and environmental justice.
  • Strong written and verbal communication across practitioners, policymakers, and agencies.
  • Ability to manage grants, proposals, and budgets.
  • Experience collaborating with Tribes and rural communities.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for restoration of beneficial fire and Indigenous fire stewardship.
  • Build sociopolitical support for beneficial fire and policy levers.
  • Collaborate with state agencies and Tribal Nations on fire programs.
  • Coordinate with WCA policy programs to identify synergies.
  • Travel up to 15% to engage communities across Washington.
