Job summary

Ocugen seeks an Associate Director to partner with cross-functional leads, driving programs from concept through commercialization. You will oversee cohesion across R&D, CMC, regulatory and commercial functions, delivering on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

This role provides strategic and operational leadership, mitigates risks, and maintains clear communication with senior leadership on progress and portfolio impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science; Ph.D. preferred.
• 10+ years in pharmaceutical industry experience with 2+ years leading multifunctional teams.
• Broad drug development expertise and contributing to strategic discussions.
• Experience in drug discovery, development, and CMC changes.
• Proficient with PM processes to manage risks and drive execution.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Development Program Lead to foster a high performing team and monitor health and efficiency.
• Lead creation of team norms and operating principles with cross-functional input.
• Act as an integrator within the Development Program Team and the enterprise for alignment.
• Facilitate science-based business decisions and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
• Highlight interdependencies and downstream impacts of strategic decisions.
• Identify risks and ensure mitigation plans are implemented.
• Coordinate resource planning across DPT to ensure adequate resources.
• Advise on governance with cross-functional input and rigorous debate.
• Coach team members and develop talent for DPT membership.
• Drive continuous improvement and transformational initiatives.
