Position Summary

As a Senior Professional Consultant, Instrument Processing, you’ll lead the optimization of sterile processing, surgical support, and endoscopy departments. This involves conducting comprehensive operational assessments, delivering actionable insights, and implementing processes that drive measurable improvements.

You’ll act as a trusted advisor to our customers by identifying process enhancement opportunities and aligning them with our innovative service offerings. Internally, you’ll support our sales teams with subject matter expertise, providing impactful education on our products and services. Your role also includes involvement in contract and proposal development to ensure STERIS delivers high-quality, customized solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations. The position requires travel nationwide up to 75%.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct strategic and operational assessments in sterile processing, surgical support, and endoscopy departments to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement policies, processes, and best practices in Sterile Processing Departments.
  • Support sales teams as a subject matter expert to drive product line growth and customer engagement.
  • Research competitors and provide ongoing market intelligence to sales and leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with the Reprocessing SPD sales division and leadership to execute business strategies.
  • Optimize operational systems, processes, and policies for division growth.
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives by developing content, case studies, and presentations highlighting competitive advantages.
  • Analyze sales data to align sales and operations with market demands.
  • Advise leadership during contract negotiations to ensure financially sound and customer-aligned agreements.
  • Monitor KPIs and lead process improvement initiatives based on data insights.
  • Provide expert training and support in contracted facilities, demonstrating deep knowledge of OR and SPD workflows.
  • Lead and participate in high-impact, value-driven projects across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards such as JCAHO, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, and AORN guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience in Sterile Processing, or a High School diploma with 12+ years of experience. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Sterile Processing process improvement.
  • At least 4 years in a leadership or consulting role within Sterile Processing.

The pay range for this position is $93,000 - $130,000, and it is eligible for bonuses.

Pay rates will comply with local minimums if higher than the listed range. Compensation depends on factors such as experience, education, certifications, and other relevant criteria.
