Job summary

Synectic Solutions, Inc. seeks a Senior Production & Quality Engineer for the M&QE Division to support a classified program at NAS Patuxent River, MD. Location is on-site with 30% travel to Industry sites; telework is not available.

The role covers analysis, producibility evaluation, and leadership of design and manufacturing quality activities through acquisition phases, with risk assessments and program reviews guiding decisions.

Qualifications

• MS or MA in engineering or science from an accredited university.
• Substitution: BS + 4 years of recent and relevant experience.
• At least 10 years of engineering experience, 3 with DoD systems.
• Industrial Engineering background preferred; M&Q skills highly desired.
• US Citizen and Active Secret DoD security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for Production & Quality of an early development classified program.
• Examine suppliers and conduct facilities evaluations to ensure producibility integrated into SE process.
• Conduct quality research and data analysis to support M&QE requirements across acquisition phases.
• Evaluate design producibility and manufacturing planning to meet affordability and schedules.
• Prepare technical risk assessments for decision meetings and briefings.
• Support PRRs, MRAs, PCAs, QSEs, EIs, and SETR events.
• Identify causes of manufacturing or quality problems and propose solutions.
• Provide input during design reviews and program/technical meetings.

Synectic Solutions isseekingSenior Production & Quality Engineerfor the M&QE Division, in NAVAIR’s Systems Acquisition Group. The candidate will provide research analysis and technical domain engineering support in M&QE for a classified at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. Location: On-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD and 30% travel to Industry sites. This work is not eligible for teleworking.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for Production & Quality of an early development classified program.
• Examine suppliers and perform facilities evaluations assessing contractor design, development and manufacturing/quality planning activities, ensuring that production and producibility considerations are being appropriately integrated into the systems engineering process.
• Conduct quality research and data analysis to provide support in the establishment of M&QE requirements and management of M&QE efforts through all acquisition phases, including capacity analysis to examine for scalability.
• Evaluate design producibility, manufacturing planning and proposed or actual production/quality processes considering program affordability needs and with respect to established schedules and production plans.
• Prepare technical risk assessments for decision meetings and related briefings.
• Support the M&QE Division and IPT in planning and leading design, manufacturing and quality risk reduction efforts, producibility assessments and Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs).
• Provide technical support for producibility and manufacturing discussions in design reviews and program/technical meetings and provide design and process oriented technical inputs.
• Identify the causes of potential or actual manufacturing, producibility, or quality problems and recommend solutions to M&QE and IPT management via briefing or written correspondence.
• Support the M&QE lead during the conduct of Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs), Quality System Evaluations (QSEs), Engineering Investigations (EIs), and other M&QE reviews. Support Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) events.
• Conduct quality research and data analysis to assist M&QE Division leadership in improving M&QE products and capabilities so that they optimally support programs and fleet readiness.

Requirements:

• Technical or Scientific MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university
• ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience
• At least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to DoD systems. Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.
• Industrial Engineering background is desired
• M&Q skills highly desired
• Must be a US Citizen
• Active Secret DoD Security Clearance required
• Must be a US Citizen
