Job summary

Synectic Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Senior Production & Quality Engineer for the M&QE Division to support a classified DoD program at NAS Patuxent River, MD. The role requires on-site presence with 30% travel to industry sites and no telework.

The candidate will provide research analysis and technical domain engineering support in M&QE, perform producibility assessments, and lead readiness reviews throughout acquisition phases. Active Secret DoD clearance and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• MS or MA degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college.
• Substitution: BS or BA degree and 4+ years of recent relevant experience.
• At least 10 years of engineering experience, 3 of which in DoD systems.
• Industrial engineering background is desired.
• M&Q skills are highly desired.
• Must be a US Citizen and eligible for a Secret DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide research analysis and technical domain engineering support for M&QE in a classified program.
• Evaluate design producibility, manufacturing planning, and production/quality processes.
• Prepare technical risk assessments and briefings for decision meetings.
• Support design reviews, PRRs, MRAs, and other M&QE reviews with technical inputs.
• Identify causes of manufacturing, producibility, or quality problems and propose solutions.

Synectic Solutions isseekingSenior Production & Quality Engineerfor the M&QE Division, in NAVAIR’s Systems Acquisition Group. The candidate will provide research analysis and technical domain engineering support in M&QE for a classified at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. Location: On-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD and 30% travel to Industry sites. This work is not eligible for teleworking.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for Production & Quality of an early development classified program.
• Examine suppliers and perform facilities evaluations assessing contractor design, development and manufacturing/quality planning activities, ensuring that production and producibility considerations are being appropriately integrated into the systems engineering process.
• Conduct quality research and data analysis to provide support in the establishment of M&QE requirements and management of M&QE efforts through all acquisition phases, including capacity analysis to examine for scalability.
• Evaluate design producibility, manufacturing planning and proposed or actual production/quality processes considering program affordability needs and with respect to established schedules and production plans.
• Prepare technical risk assessments for decision meetings and related briefings.
• Support the M&QE Division and IPT in planning and leading design, manufacturing and quality risk reduction efforts, producibility assessments and Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs).
• Provide technical support for producibility and manufacturing discussions in design reviews and program/technical meetings and provide design and process oriented technical inputs.
• Identify the causes of potential or actual manufacturing, producibility, or quality problems and recommend solutions to M&QE and IPT management via briefing or written correspondence.
• Support the M&QE lead during the conduct of Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs), Quality System Evaluations (QSEs), Engineering Investigations (EIs), and other M&QE reviews. Support Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) events.
• Conduct quality research and data analysis to assist M&QE Division leadership in improving M&QE products and capabilities so that they optimally support programs and fleet readiness.

Requirements:

• Technical or Scientific MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university
• ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience
• At least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) of which must be directly related to DoD systems. Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.
• Industrial Engineering background is desired
• M&Q skills highly desired
• Must be a US Citizen
• Active Secret DoD Security Clearance required
• Must be a US Citizen
