Job summary

AkzoNobel is seeking a Senior Production Planner at our Waukegan, IL site to coordinate short-, medium-, and long-term production planning. The role ensures alignment between Supply Chain, Production, Logistics, Customer Service, and Procurement, driving inventory management, continuity, and performance improvements.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 5+ years in planning, extensive SAP/MRP experience, and strong analytical and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required or equivalent manufacturing planning experience.
• 5+ years of experience in production planning, supply chain, scheduling, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience with SAP, MRP, or ERP planning systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret operational and inventory data.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills desired.

Responsibilities

• Plan short-, medium-, and long-term production to meet demand and optimize inventory.
• Create, release, and schedule process orders to support production execution.
• Coordinate priorities and communicate scheduling updates across Supply Chain, Logistics, Customer Service, Procurement, and Plant Operations.
• Monitor inventory levels, safety stock targets, and demand forecasts to identify risks.
• Lead KPI tracking and support reporting activities across the site.
