Senior Production Planner
Location: Portland, OR
Pay: $30an hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Who We Are
We are partnering with an established manufacturing company looking for an experienced Senior Production Planner who knows how to keep production moving! This is a great opportunity for someone who understands the bigger picture of manufacturing and enjoys bringing together production schedules, materials, inventory, capacity, and customer demand. You will work closely with Production, Scheduling, Expediting, Engineering, and Project Management to make sure orders stay on track and customer commitments are met.
What You’ll Do:
- Monitor production orders and overall order status
- Assess production capacity and upcoming demand
- Review short term forecasts and communicate changes in labor and capacity needs
- Coordinate released jobs with Production Scheduling and Expediting
- Monitor raw materials, Work in Progress, and finished goods inventory
- Identify material shortages and help determine solutions
- Review rework and scrap issues with Production and Manufacturing Engineering
- Review critical RFQs and RFPs for material and capacity requirements
- Prepare reports and track key production metrics
- Work across departments to keep schedules, priorities, and customer requirements aligned

What You Need to Have:
- 3 to 5+ years of recent production planning experience in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment
- Strong MRP and ERP experience
- Experience with production planning and schedule management
- Understanding of capacity, inventory, and demand analysis
- Experience with material allocation and shortage resolution
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multiple departments
- Advanced Excel and data analytics experience is a big plus
- Lean manufacturing knowledge is preferred
