Jobtailor in Narragansett, RI is seeking an experienced Production Scheduler to coordinate the flow of work and materials across departments, creating and maintaining schedules to meet shipping dates and forecast-driven orders while minimizing costs.

You will utilize production planning software and ERP systems, drive data-driven supply chain analytics, and provide leadership in improvement projects within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • 5+ years of planning and/or logistics experience.
  • Experience using production planning software and ERP systems.
  • Approximately 10% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate production scheduling to meet daily/weekly plans while minimizing cost and inventory.
  • Create and maintain schedules to meet shipping dates according to forecasts and orders.
  • Release and create work orders to support planned demand, sales, and inventory levels.
  • Communicate supply constraints, lead-time commitments, open orders, and delivery exceptions to internal customers.
  • Lead improvement projects and maintain site-specific scheduling rules.

Job description

Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly production schedules
Meet customer requirements while minimizing manufacturing and distribution costs and inventory investment
Create and maintain schedules to meet shipping dates according to forecasts and orders while maximizing operational efficiencies
Utilize, release, and create work orders to support planned demand, sales, and inventory levels while utilizing available capacity
Create and recommend revisions to production schedules as needed
Prepare, report, and present scheduling reports, delivery performance metrics, and supply chain analytics
Provide leadership visibility into potential production scheduling issues, including raw material, equipment, and staffing issues
Communicate supply constraints, lead-time commitments, open orders/jobs, and delivery exceptions to internal customers
Maintain high-quality planning parameter data, including stocking policies, lead time, and safety stocks
Participate in and lead improvement projects and special initiatives
Own documentation of site-specific production scheduling rules and work-center constraints
Support training and onboarding of new staff
Provide backup support to site team members and similar product lines in the network
Support the Integrated Business Process as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business or related field; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of relevant planning and/or logistics experience
  • Experience using production planning software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Approximately 10% travel
