Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Production Planner to coordinate and optimize scheduling, materials flow, and capacity across departments in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes meeting customer requirements while minimizing costs, using ERP and production planning software, and delivering insightful analytics to improve operations and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, operations management, business or related field; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• 5+ years of relevant planning and/or logistics experience
• Experience using production planning software and ERP systems
• Approximate travel: 10%

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly production schedules
• Meet customer requirements while minimizing manufacturing and distribution costs and inventory investment
• Create and maintain schedules to meet shipping dates according to forecasts and orders while maximizing operational efficiencies
• Utilize, release, and create work orders to support planned demand, sales, and inventory levels while using available capacity
• Create or recommend revisions to production schedules as needed
• Prepare, report, and present scheduling reports, delivery performance metrics, and supply chain analytics
• Provide visibility into issues affecting production scheduling, including raw material, equipment, and staffing issues
• Communicate supply constraints, lead-time commitments, open orders/jobs, and on-time delivery exceptions to internal customers
• Maintain high-quality planning-parameter data, including stocking policies, lead time, and safety stocks
• Participate in and lead improvement projects and special initiatives
• Own documentation of production-scheduling rules, regulations, and site constraints
• Support training and onboarding of new staff
• Provide backup support to site team members and similar product lines in the network
• Support the Integrated Business Process for short-term needs
• Perform other duties as assigned
