Job summary

ABB Inc. in the United States is seeking a Production Engineering Manager to lead the Production Engineering function, oversee manufacturing processes, assembly methods, equipment, capital investments, and production technologies.

You will partner with Production, R&D, Supply Chain and Quality to design, validate and implement manufacturing strategies that improve safety, quality, delivery and cost performance while developing high-performing teams and aligning with ABB's operational excellence

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing, production engineering, or operations with 3+ years of leadership experience.
• Demonstrated success in manufacturing process development and optimization, including production technologies and equipment implementation.
• Experience leading new product introductions (NPI) and capital projects and ensuring manufacturing readiness.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, FMEA, root cause analysis, and quality systems; experience in industrial electric motor manufacturing preferred.
• Proficiency in production cost modeling, capacity planning, ERP systems, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration across Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Procurement, and R&D.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Production Engineering function to develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes, technologies, and production systems that improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance.
• Drive capital investment and continuous improvement initiatives, including project justification, execution, automation, process enhancements, and manufacturing capability expansion to achieve operational and financial objectives.
• Partner with cross-functional and global stakeholders to support new product introductions, engineering changes, supplier and technology evaluations, cost optimization, and standardization of best practices.
• Develop high-performing teams and ensure operational excellence by coaching Production Engineering personnel, maintaining safety and regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
