Job summary

Meta is seeking Production Engineers to join teams responsible for the core infrastructure powering WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Meta Ads. You will own back-end services, help scale systems to billions of users, and drive high-impact improvements across multiple platforms.

You will mentor teams, leverage AI-assisted tooling, and contribute to production-ready code and capacity plans while maintaining reliability and performance of critical services in production.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Unix/Linux and network fundamentals.
• 10+ years of coding experience in Java, Python, C++, PHP/Hack, Rust, Go or similar.
• Experience learning software, frameworks and APIs.
• Experience with internet service architecture capacity planning.
• Knowledge of web technologies and internet service architectures (LAMP/ MEAN, CDN, Load Balancing).
• Experience configuring and running infrastructure level applications (Kubernetes, Terraform, MySQL).
• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own back-end services and infrastructure components across Meta's platforms.
• Mentor and lead the engineering team, acting as a force multiplier.
• Write and review code, leverage AI tools, produce documentation and capacity plans, debug live systems.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident escalation.
• Collaborate with other teams on production-grade code and systems.
• Analyze and optimize code for quality, scalability, and performance; establish ownership of systems.
