About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Senior Production Engineer to join their team in Welkom . This role is integral to optimizing the performance and efficiency of oil and gas production facilities. You will focus on maximizing output, ensuring operational integrity, and implementing best practices in production operations. You will collaborate with reservoir, drilling, and facilities engineers to ensure seamless field operations and achieve production targets effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, optimize well performance, and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Develop and implement production enhancement strategies, including artificial lift optimization and workover planning.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations in all production activities.
• Collaborate with the reservoir engineering team to align production plans with reservoir management objectives.
• Manage the interface with the facilities engineering team for the maintenance and integrity of production equipment.
• Prepare production forecasts, reports, and economic evaluations for field operations.
• Mentor junior production engineers and provide technical guidance to field operations personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in production engineering within the oil and gas sector .
• Strong understanding of production operations, artificial lift systems, and wellhead equipment.
• Proficiency in production optimization software and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of process safety management and environmental regulations applicable to production facilities.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams is desirable.
