Placements24 seeks a Senior Production Engineer for a remote-first role supporting oil and gas operations with assets in the Free State. You will optimize production, ensure safety and environmental compliance, and use advanced analytics to diagnose issues and improve recovery.

You will work autonomously with distributed teams, plan interventions, review artificial lift options, and analyze production data to drive efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in production engineering within Oil & Gas.
• Strong knowledge of artificial lift systems and production optimization techniques.
• Proficiency with production data analysis software and tools.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Monitor well/field production, diagnose decline trends, and identify issues.
• Develop and implement production optimization strategies and artificial lift.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor well and field production performance, identify decline trends, and diagnose operational issues.


• Develop and implement production optimization strategies , including artificial lift design and enhancement.


• Plan and manage well interventions and workover operations to improve productivity and maintain assets.


• Conduct technical reviews and provide recommendations for artificial lift system selection, design, and troubleshooting.


• Collaborate with reservoir engineers, geologists, and facility engineers to achieve integrated field development and production plans.


• Analyze production data using relevant software to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reductions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.


• Minimum of 6 years of experience in production engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.


• Strong knowledge of artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, rod pumps, gas lift) and production optimization techniques.


• Proficiency with production data analysis software and tools.


• Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a remote setting.
