Job summary

Solstice Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Production Engineer for our chemical manufacturing client. This in-office position is in the Beaumont / Port Arthur area with up to 10% travel and relocation assistance available for the right candidate.

Base salary is $140k–$160k DOE plus bonus opportunity and excellent benefits. Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with 10+ years in chemical manufacturing and 7+ years in distillation and batch processing are required.

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and 10+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• 7+ years experience in distillation and batch processing required.
• Strong process and project design experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead operation of distillation projects and/or hydrogenation reactors.
• Collaborate with plant management to provide data and chemical engineering support for product campaigns.
• Work with technical advising and plant personnel to optimize operations and meet plant goals.
• Coordinate with QA to ensure product specifications are met.
• Develop cost-effective projects to optimize production.
• Develop procedures for items in production or planned for future production.
• Troubleshoot plant operations to meet expected results.
• Generate reports with mass balances, process data analysis, and de-bottlenecking proposals.
• Maintain schedules to meet production demand.
• Ensure projects run efficiently by coordinating with plant personnel and data analysis.
• Participate with operators to identify process and HSEQ improvements.
• Communicate technical information to plant personnel at all levels.
• Lead process improvement meetings and project planning discussions.

The Senior Production Engineer role oversees operation of distillation projects and hydrogenation reactors, acts as a technical resource for operations personnel, applies technical skills to optimize plant operations.

Role Responsibilities

• Leading the operation of distillation projects and/or hydrogenation reactors.
• Understanding and working with plant utilities.
• Working with Plant Management to provide data and chemical engineering support for specific product campaigns.
• Working closely with Technical Advising and plant personnel to optimize operations and meet plant goals.
• Work closely with QA personnel to ensure that all product specifications are met.
• Assist the Engineering Department in developing cost effective projects to optimize production.
• Develop procedures for items already in production or to be produced in the future.
• Troubleshooting plant operations when actual operations do not meet the expected results.
• Generating reports that detail including mass balances, process data analysis and de-bottlenecking proposals.
• Developing and maintaining specific schedules to meet production demand.
• Ensuring projects are running efficiently by working with plant personnel, technical advisors and data analysis.
• Actively participating with operators in the field to help identify process and HSEQ improvements.
• Communicating technical information and issues to plant personnel at all levels within the organization, when needed
• Lead process improvement meetings with plant personnel for the main projects.
• Lead project planning meetings to discuss all items related to the project execution.
