• 6+ years of experience in sourcing engineering or supplier development.
• Expertise in value engineering, procurement engineering, or TCO at the component and product level.
• Willingness to travel 30% to 40% based on program needs.
• Preference for onsite work at the office, but remote work in Washington is available.

Responsibilities

• Conduct supplier selection using the approved supplier list
• Partner with suppliers to accelerate product development through concept scoping and feature trade-offs
• Drive the development of a manufacturing BOM in collaboration with Quality and Manufacturing
• Manage CAPEX throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) process
• Conduct value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time
• Complete BOM risk assessments and ensure component qualifications
• Lead cost engineering activities to maximize total cost of ownership (TCO)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Product Sourcing Engineer, Counter Intrusion to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space.

This role will drive sourcing strategy and supplier collaboration for complex new product introductions, with a strong focus on cost, quality, and manufacturability.

You will partner cross-functionally with Quality, Manufacturing, and program teams to accelerate development, manage component readiness, and reduce supply chain risk.

The position blends technical sourcing, value engineering, and supplier development to improve total cost of ownership and support successful product launches.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $146,000 – $194,000 annually
