Job summary

Cohere is hiring a Senior Product Security Engineer. You’ll work with product and engineering teams to secure AI-powered products, review architecture and code, and translate findings into practical mitigations.

This hands-on role requires threat modeling, testing, and developing secure defaults across multi-tenant systems. You’ll collaborate with engineers to strengthen security capabilities, explain risk decisions to leadership, and help shape security best practices for scale.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with ability to test and fix production code.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or TypeScript.
• Led security reviews or threat models for complex systems.
• Familiar with common vulnerability classes and design failures.
• Know modern app architectures: web apps, APIs, OAuth/OIDC, cloud, containers.
• Ability to reason about untrusted input, isolation, and data boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Lead security reviews across architecture, code, and changes.
• Evaluate risks: prompt injection, data exposure, tenant isolation, sandboxing.
• Threat model new capabilities and translate findings into mitigations.
• Perform hands-on testing, create PoCs, assess impact and remediation.
• Develop secure defaults, patterns, and automated checks.
• Help engineers and product teams build security expertise.
• Explain findings and remediation options to engineers and executives.
