Job summary

Midcontinent Independent System Operator Inc. (MISO) seeks a Senior Product Owner to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Energy Market Management, driving modernization and simplifying complex systems.

You will collaborate across stakeholders, engineers, and delivery teams to deliver customer-centered market operations improvements. The ideal candidate has deep energy markets knowledge, leadership experience, and a proven ability to translate industry expertise into measurable product

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• Six years minimum in product management, ownership, business analysis, systems engineering, or related experience.
• Deep energy industry knowledge, ideal in energy markets.
• Proven track record of defining success metrics and data-informed decisions.
• Experience applying AI tools in product management.
• Certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner, SAFe PO/PM and/or PMI-ACP are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the product vision and roadmap for complex or multi-line products, influencing stakeholders and executives to shape long-term strategy.
• Serve as a product evangelist who aligns cross-functional teams and executive leaders around key product objectives.
• Synthesize insights and lead the development and standardization of product metrics to guide strategic direction and measure success.
• Lead discovery efforts by framing strategic questions, coordinating research activities, and ensuring insights inform decisions.

• Apply financial and strategic acumen to build compelling business cases, influence prioritization, and guide investment decisions.

• Partner with cross-functional experts to shape solution design, influence tradeoff decisions, and ensure products deliver meaningful user and business value.
• Leverage AI tools to responsibly enhance analysis, streamline workflows, and identify innovative opportunities that improve product performance and efficiency.
• Leads by example in applying product management best practices and mentors Product Owner I and II teams to elevate capabilities.
