You\'ll be the voice of our developers and customers, translating their needs into a compelling narrative that shapes our core messaging and positioning. This role is about more than just crafting a message—it’s about defining a new market category and directly influencing product adoption, pipeline creation, and revenue growth for our evolving AI, enterprise and developer platform. This role offers a unique chance to shape the future of a product used by millions of developers worldwide. You’ll be at the intersection of AI, security, and developer tools, working in a highly collaborative, yet autonomous, environment with a small team where your strategic contributions have a direct, visible impact on the business and the industry.

Responsibilities
  • Define and Evangelize the Market Narrative: Serve as the primary driver of GitHub\'s market position for specific products, defining compelling messaging and positioning that resonates with developers and C-level stakeholders.
  • Lead Strategic Go-to-Market Initiatives: Support product launches and major GTM initiatives, from strategy definition to cross-functional execution. You\'ll support the launch framework, establish success metrics, and ensure alignment across marketing, sales, and product teams.
  • Influence Product Launches: Act as a strategic partner to Product Management, using a deep understanding of our audience, market trends, and competitive landscape to inform the product roadmap, pricing, packaging, and naming.
  • Be the Expert: Maintain a deep understanding of the developer ecosystem, trends around AI agents and AI developer tools and the competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions across the company.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years experience in Marketing
    • OR Bachelor\'s Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years experience in Marketing
    • OR Master\'s Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in Marketing
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Business-to-Business (B2B) product marketing at a high-growth SaaS or AI company (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience marketing to developer audiences, translating highly technical concepts into compelling narratives for diverse stakeholders—from engineers to executives.
  • Experience leading multiple strategic product launches for B2B software in the SaaS or AI space.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of B2B software business models, with a track record of developing programs that drive significant business growth and pipeline generation
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments with a high degree of autonomy, a bias for action, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Experience leading go-to-market strategies and products, including the creation and/or direction of demos for revenue, field, and event teams
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership
Compensation Range

The base salary range for this job is USD $96,400.00 - USD $255,700.00 /Yr.

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual\'s base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee\'s role.
