Job description

Salud Healthcare

Salud Healthcare is a tech-forward services organization that helps private practices and provider groups succeed in value-based and alternative payment models. Our in-house platforms, Nexus and Nexo, are central to how we support providers, manage risk and quality, and run our operations. The Product Manager owns the direction of an assigned product area end to end turning healthcare business needs into a clear roadmap and buildable requirements, and deciding what gets built next alongside the business and Software Engineering.

Position Summary

Reporting to the AVP, Software Engineering, the Senior Product Manager owns an assigned product area and connects Salud's clinical, operations, finance, provider relations, and payer-facing teams with the engineering team. You set product direction and priorities: running discovery, defining and sequencing the roadmap, shaping and prioritizing the backlog, writing clear requirements with testable acceptance criteria, and accepting finished work against them. This is a hands-on role you still elicit requirements, map workflows, and analyze healthcare data yourself rather than hand it off. It requires deep healthcare experience: the right candidate already understands Medicare Advantage, value-based care, claims, risk adjustment, and quality programs, and can speak credibly with both business users and engineers. The role is remote.

Key Responsibilities
Requirements & Workflow Analysis
  • Elicit and document requirements from clinical, operations, finance, provider relations, and payer-facing stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and observation.

  • Map current-state and future-state workflows in Lucid (swimlane / BPMN), identifying gaps, manual workarounds, and opportunities to automate.

  • Write clear user stories with testable acceptance criteria, business rules, and edge cases that engineering can build from without guesswork.

  • Maintain requirements traceability, data dictionaries, and process documentation.

  • Create mockups and clickable prototypes in Figma to pin down requirements, test workflows with stakeholders, and align on the design before build.

  • Apply design-thinking methods user research, journey maps, and problem framing to make sure we solve the right problem before committing requirements.

Healthcare Data Analysis
  • Analyze healthcare data claims, eligibility, encounters, HCC/risk adjustment, HEDIS/quality gaps, and payer files to define data requirements, mappings, and validation rules.

  • Write SQL queries to profile data, validate assumptions, and confirm that delivered features produce correct results.

  • Support integrations with payers, EMRs, and outside vendors by documenting file specs, interfaces, and data flows.

Delivery, Testing & Adoption
  • Serve as the day-to-day go-between for business users and engineers, answering questions during development and resolving ambiguity quickly.

  • Partner with QA on test scenarios and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with business owners.

  • Help business teams adopt new features through walkthroughs, release notes, and job aids.

  • Own go-to-market for each release launch communications, release notes, training, and change management so business teams adopt what ships.

Product Management & Roadmap
  • Own the product roadmap and backlog for your product area keep it groomed, sized, sequenced, and ready for upcoming sprints.

  • Set and defend priorities based on business value, regulatory or payer deadlines, effort, and dependencies; make the trade-offs explicit to stakeholders and the AVP, Software Engineering.

  • Run discovery with stakeholders and users to decide what to build next, and hold to one focused roadmap rather than many competing requests.

  • Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews; accept or send back completed stories against their acceptance criteria.

  • Define success measures for each release and report on adoption and outcomes, folding results and new feedback back into the roadmap.

Strategy, Metrics & Agile Delivery
  • Tie the product roadmap to company OKRs and the Technology strategy show how each initiative ladders up to a measurable objective.

  • Define product KPIs and success metrics, instrument them with the data team, and use the numbers adoption, usage, outcomes to decide what gets built next.

  • Run agile delivery for your area and manage JIRA end to end backlog, epics, sprints, and reporting (velocity, burndown, status) keeping tickets clean, estimated, and traceable to requirements.

  • Coordinate across engineering, data, QA, and outside vendors and payers managing dependencies, timelines, and hand-offs so commitments land.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years in product management, product ownership, or senior product / business analysis on software or data projects, including writing user stories and acceptance criteria in an Agile/Scrum environment.

  • 5+ years of healthcare industry experience with a health plan, MSO, ACO, value-based care organization, provider group, or healthcare technology company.

  • Hands-on working knowledge of Medicare Advantage and value-based care models, risk adjustment (HCCs/RAF), quality programs (HEDIS, CMS Star Ratings), and claims, eligibility, and encounter data, including X12 EDI transactions (834, 835, 837).
