Job summary

Amazon’s Retail Pricing team prices everything shipped and sold worldwide, building high-performance capabilities to deliver better prices with minimal human intervention.   • Identify trends, deep-dive gaps, generate insights and build solutions to improve our pricing systems and methodologies.
  • Establish and own comprehensive set of metrics to measure success.
  • Translate business questions into simulations on in-house tools, and perform impact analysis.
  • Prepare and deliver business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress/roadblocks and support decision making.
  • Provide analytical support for future pricing strategy changes and uncover opportunities to improve process.

Job description

The Retail Pricing team prices everything shipped and sold by Amazon, worldwide and cross-format. Across hundreds of millions of prices everyday, our goal is to earn long term customer trust by offering the best prices to customers. Automation and scalability are a core part of our mission statement. In this role, you will help Amazon design, build and deliver high-performance, fault-tolerant capabilities that support high-fidelity prices without human intervention across the breath of our strategies, products and channels.

As an ideal candidate, you have a passion to understand the interplay of our different pricing strategies to fuel scale and automation. You are responsible for defining and driving our product roadmaps. You will work with in-house scientists, retail organizations, data-engineers and software teams to identify new features and projects. As our lead product strategist, you must analyze the potential customer and financial implications, select the most promising ideas, prioritize them, and create a cohesive roadmap. You will also evangelize new features to our clients, working to accelerate their adoption, track the impacts, and communicate results with senior leaders.

This is a highly visible position. You must have the experience and capability to prepare documentation for senior executives and align your roadmap with Amazon’s strategic objectives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and data analytical capabilities are a necessity. Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • Experience performing statistical analysis of data using SQL, Excel and other tools
  • Experience with technologies like Hadoop, Rules based systems and Machine learning

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
