We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager - Software/AI to drive our next-generation bioinformatics, data analytics, and AI/ML product offerings. This role is ideal for a systems thinker with strong technical fluency, a customer-first mindset, and a passion for enabling discoveries through intelligent software. This role will report to our SVP, Marketing & Product Management and will be a San Diego based (onsite)role.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Define and evolve the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI-powered analysis, cloud platforms, embedded systems and instrument software
  • Translate business goals and customer insights into product initiatives aligned with the company’s mission

Customer-Centric Innovation

  • Work closely with researchers, bioinformaticians, and clinical users to deeply understand their workflows, pain points, and data needs
  • Prioritize features and requirements based on feedback, usage data, and business impact

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with product owners, software engineers, bioinformaticians, AI/ML scientists, UX designers, and genomics R&D teams to deliver high-impact solutions
  • Define and own detailed product requirements (PRDs, user stories) and ensure clarity across teams

Execution & Delivery

  • Partner with QA and DevOps teams to ensure high performance, reliability, and compliance in cloud and on-prem software environments

Go-to-Market & Lifecycle

  • Collaborate with commercial and support teams to drive successful product launches, training, and customer adoption
  • Monitor usage metrics, customer satisfaction, and iterate to ensure product-market fit

Education and Experience:

  • Life Sciences Degree with 4+ years of product management experience, with at least 4 years in a software or AI-focused role
  • Background in life sciences, computational biology, or a technical field (e.g., bioinformatics, computer science)
  • Proven track record of shipping complex software products in agile environments
  • Deep understanding of data pipelines, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS/GCP), and AI/ML integration
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Experience in genomics or working with sequencing platforms
  • Familiarity with regulatory or clinical software (e.g., HIPAA, ISO 13485)
  • Knowledge of LIMS, workflow orchestration, or scientific computing environments

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Must be flexible in working hours as this position may require customer support during non-regular business hours

Base Compensation Pay Range:

  • $145,000 - $185,000

In addition to base compensation noted above, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.
