Job summary

Mercury is seeking a Senior Product Manager to elevate Mercury Invoicing, the dashboard for tracking receivables, the invoice builder, and the payer experience. You will partner with Engineering, Design, Data Science, and other product teams to scale while preserving simplicity.

You will lead customer discovery, prioritize a busy backlog, and drive features like accounting integrations, templates, credits, and promos. Strong fintech context is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience shipping products, preferably in fintech or payments.
• Strong product judgment to prioritize backlog and explain decisions.
• Proven ability to talk to customers and convert feedback into product improvements.
• High attention to detail since invoicing involves handling money.
• Autonomy to own a product end to end from problem to launch and iteration.
• Experience partnering with engineering, design, data science and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Job description

Every business needs to get paid. For many of the startups and small businesses that bank with Mercury, that starts with sending an invoice. The process has to be effortless. A polished, professional invoice should take seconds to create. Customers should be able to pay easily. Once the payment arrives, it should match itself to the right invoice without anyone lifting a finger.

Mercury Invoicing is a fast-growing product serving customers across Technology, Professional Services, Real Estate, and more. We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to take a product that already works and make it even more powerful.

You’ll own the full Invoicing experience: the dashboard where businesses track what they’re owed, the builder where they create invoices, and the payer experience on the other side. You’ll work closely with the PM who built Invoicing from scratch and now leads adjacent efforts. Together, you’ll decide how Invoicing grows to meet more complex customer needs without losing the simplicity that made customers choose it in the first place.

What you’ll do:

• Own the roadmap for Mercury Invoicing across every surface: the dashboard, the builder and the payer experience
• Talk to customers and prospects, and turn what you hear into clear next steps
• Take on a full backlog of work we already know customers need: accounting integrations, invoice templates, credits and credit memos, promos and coupons .. the list goes on
• Keep the product simple while making it more powerful, so it grows with customers as their businesses scale
• Find where AI can make getting paid meaningfully better, without chasing hype
• Partner closely with Engineering, Design and Data Science, as well as Product Marketing, Customer Support, Sales, Risk and other product teams like Mercury Books
• Grow the business, measured by Invoicing’s active users, new feature adoption, and customer retention

What you bring:

• 5+ years of product management experience building and shipping products, ideally ones where money moves and mistakes are costly
• Strong product judgment: you can take a full backlog, decide what matters most and explain why
• A passion for talking to customers, and a record of turning their feedback into products they love
• Close attention to detail. Invoices are money, and small details matter to the businesses sending them and to the people paying them.
• High agency and comfort owning a product end to end, from problem definition to launch and iteration
• Strong partnership with engineering and design, and the ability to align many cross-functional stakeholders behind one plan
• The ability to learn a new domain quickly

It would be particularly useful if you have:

• Experience at a company that serves startups and/or small businesses
• Built products in invoicing, accounts receivable, billing or payments
• Experience with accounting integrations such as QuickBooks, Xero or NetSuite

You don’t need prior invoicing or AR experience to succeed in this role. We care more about your customer instincts, product judgment and ability to learn the domain quickly.

Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a candidate’s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.

Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are the following:

• US employees (any location): $200,700—$250,900 USD
• Canadian employees (any location): $189,700—$237,100 CAD
