Job summary

Box is seeking a senior product manager to own events, signaling, and asynchronous processing across platform teams. You will partner with engineers and architects to define clear specs, backlogs, and success metrics, while driving efficiency and reducing unnecessary data transfer.

You will coordinate cross-site work (Redwood City, Poland), communicate progress to leadership, and help shape the future of Box's event-driven platforms in a globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in product management for platform/infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Experience driving system efficiency with measurable results.
• Comfortable discussing messaging and event-driven architecture.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap for events, signaling, and async processing across internal and external use cases.
• Lead product discovery with internal consumer teams; translate requirements into clear specs, backlogs, and metrics.
• Drive efficiency initiatives to reduce data transfer and optimize compute usage.
• Partner with architects and engineering to deliver high-quality releases.
• Establish instrumentation, baselines, and reporting for platform performance and reliability.
• Enable externalization of eventing capabilities with developer docs and guardrails.
• Coordinate cross-site execution (Redwood City, Poland) and align stakeholders on progress.
• Communicate vision and outcomes clearly to leadership and partner teams.

What you’ll do

• Own the roadmap for events, signaling, and asynchronous processing capabilities across internal and external use cases.
• Lead product discovery with internal consumer teams; translate requirements into clear specs, backlogs, and success metrics.
• Drive efficiency initiatives that reduce redundant data transfer and optimize compute usage with measurable impact.
• Partner with architects and engineering to make sound implementation decisions and deliver high-quality releases.
• Establish instrumentation, baselines, and reporting for platform performance, adoption, and reliability.
• Enable responsible externalization of eventing capabilities, including developer-facing documentation and guardrails.
• Coordinate cross-site execution (Redwood City, Poland), remove blockers, and keep stakeholders aligned on progress and trade-offs.
• Communicate vision and outcomes clearly to leadership and partner teams.

Who you are

• 5+ years in product management with experience on platform/infrastructure or large-scale distributed systems.
• Proven track record driving system efficiency (e.g., compute optimization, reducing data transfer, improving signaling) with quantified results.
• Comfortable engaging in technical discussions on messaging/event-driven architecture and asynchronous processing.
• Strong stakeholder management and social presence; able to influence across teams and geographies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with crisp specs, prioritization, and metrics-driven decision-making.
• Bias toward implementation details and partnering deeply with engineering and architects.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams; able to manage time zones and handoffs.
• Nice to have: Background in consulting or enterprise platforms; familiarity with pub/sub systems, streaming pipelines, and any prior development experience.
