Job description

Senior Product Manager eCommerce
PURPOSE

The Senior Product Manager owns the strategy, roadmap, commercial performance, and success of Evenica's eCommerce platform.

This role focuses on understanding customer and market needs, defining what the platform should do and why, and prioritizing work that delivers the greatest customer and business value.

The Senior Product Manager will take ownership of an established product and platform, understand its existing capabilities, customers, roadmap, and processes, and help define its next stage of growth. The expectation is not simply to continue with what is already established, but to evaluate existing approaches, strengthen product practices where required, and establish a clear product direction based on customer, market, commercial, and business needs.

The Senior Product Manager partners closely with Engineering leadership, who own how the platform is built, and with Project Management, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Support, and leadership to ensure the platform's direction supports Evenica's growth objectives.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES AND DELIVERABLES
Own the Product Strategy and Roadmap
  • Own and evolve the product strategy and roadmap for the eCommerce platform, keeping it aligned with company goals, customer needs, and market opportunities.
  • Understand the existing platform and roadmap and identify where product direction, processes, governance, or priorities should evolve.
  • Develop and maintain a prioritized roadmap based on business goals, customer needs, commercial impact, market opportunity, and the competitive landscape.
  • Translate company strategy into clear product themes, initiatives, and measurable goals.
  • Establish and improve product prioritization frameworks and decision-making processes where required.
  • Present the roadmap, priorities, trade-offs, and reasoning behind decisions to executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Balance short-term customer and project requirements with the long-term scalability and direction of the product.
Own Product Commercial Performance and P&L
  • Take ownership of the commercial performance and P&L of the product.
  • Track product revenue, costs, profitability, adoption, and return on product investments.
  • Build business cases and ROI analyses to justify product investments and prioritization decisions.
  • Track projected versus actual returns on major product initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve revenue, profitability, customer retention, adoption, and monetization.
  • Contribute to pricing, packaging, and product investment decisions with leadership and other relevant stakeholders.
Bring the Voice of the Customer and Market into Product Decisions
  • Engage directly with customers and merchants using the platform to gather qualitative and quantitative insights.
  • Gather and evaluate feedback from project teams, Customer Success, Support, Sales, Engineering, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Track market trends, competitor offerings, and industry benchmarks in eCommerce.
  • Turn customer, project, and market research into clear opportunity assessments and product requirements.
  • Ensure insights gathered during customer implementations are appropriately considered within the broader product roadmap.
Lead Product Discovery and Define What Gets Built
  • Write clear, outcome-oriented requirements, user stories, business rules, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Bring in Design as needed to validate concepts before build.
  • Prioritize the backlog based on customer value, business impact, strategic importance, commercial return, and effort.
  • Validate requirements and assumptions before committing significant Engineering resources.
  • Evaluate incoming requests to determine whether they represent a reusable product capability, configuration requirement, customer-specific customization, or defect.
  • Ensure product decisions support a scalable platform rather than being driven only by individual customer requests.
Partner with Engineering on Delivery
  • Work with Engineering leads on scope, sequencing, dependencies, and priorities, leaving architecture and implementation decisions to Engineering.
  • Join sprint reviews, planning, refinement, and release discussions as appropriate to confirm the team is building the right thing.
  • Resolve open product questions quickly so delivery is not blocked waiting on decisions.
  • Review delivered functionality against requirements and expected customer and business outcomes.
  • Balance immediate delivery requirements with the long-term maintainability and scalability of the platform.
Manage Stakeholders and Product Priorities
  • Build strong working relationships with Engineering, Project Management, Design, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Support, leadership, customers, and partners.
  • Manage competing priorities and expectations across stakeholders.
  • Clearly communicate why initiatives are prioritized, deferred, changed, or declined.
  • Present product strategy, roadmap, business cases, product performance, risks, and trade-offs to leadership.
  • Establish appropriate product governance and decision-making practices to ensure priorities are managed consistently.
Define and Track What Success Looks Like
  • Set and track KPIs such as:
    • Revenue and profitability
    • Conversion
    • Average order value
    • Customer retention
    • Feature adoption
    • Platform usage
    • Customer satisfaction
    • Return on product investment
  • Monitor performance after launch and use what is learned to inform the next iteration.
  • Report on product performance and business impact to leadership on a regular cadence.
  • Ensure major product initiatives have clearly defined expected outcomes and success measures.
Lead Go-to-Market Planning
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Support on launch plans, positioning, and enablement materials.
  • Make sure customer-facing teams are prepared ahead of releases.
  • Support strategic customer and sales discussions where product or roadmap expertise is required.
  • Gather post-launch feedback and feed relevant learnings back into the roadmap.
Maintain Accurate Product Documentation
  • Keep requirements, roadmaps, business cases, product decisions, and release notes current.
  • Ensure internal teams can find accurate, up-to-date product information.
  • Document key product decisions and the reasoning behind them.
  • Maintain appropriate product policies, standards, and governance documentation.
