BeyondSOF is seeking a Head of Product Engineering in Austin, TX to lead all design, materials, and manufacturability initiatives for our Large Power Transformer product line. You will define the technical DNA, translating decades of power-engineering know-how into automated, scalable production and establishing internal design standards for 100–500 MVA transformers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in power transformer design/manufacturing.
• Experience with automated or semi-automated production methods.
• PhD or PE license preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead end-to-end electrical and mechanical design of LPTs (core, windings, tank, OLTC, bushings, cooling, insulation).
• Translate design requirements into scalable manufacturing workflows optimized for automation, repeatability, and quality.
• Define and validate electrical, thermal, and mechanical performance parameters for ≥100 MVA, 34.5-500 kV transformers.
• Implement advanced modeling and simulation environments (SolidWorks, COMSOL, ANSYS Maxwell).
• Ensure adherence to IEEE, ANSI, IEC, DOE specifications; lead design qualification and testing programs.
• Recruit, mentor, and grow the transformer design and product-engineering team.
