Job summary

Mortenson seeks an experienced Senior Product Engineering Leader to build and guide a high-performing product engineering org for BLUvera. You’ll lead across the full lifecycle, from customer needs and front-end concepts to architecture, verification, certification, launch, and lifecycle improvements.

You will establish the engineering operating system, drive capability growth, set direction, and ensure safety, compliance, manufacturability, and commercial success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive engineering experience with leadership of product teams.
• Proven success leading engineered products from concept to production launch.
• Experience building engineering capability and developing technical talent.
• Strong technical judgment balancing safety, compliance, performance, manufacturability, cost, schedule, and risk.
• Experience with industrial equipment, modular systems, power products, or mission-critical infra preferred.
• PE license preferred but not required; stamping not expected.
• Systems thinking across requirements, architecture, interfaces, and lifecycle support.
• Disciplined planning, risk management, configuration management, and data management.
• Demonstrates Mortenson values; effective communication across levels.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary product engineering team.
• Translate product strategy into architecture, roadmaps, priorities, and plans.
• Establish standards, design authority, review practices, gates, and release criteria.
• Create a disciplined development system spanning requirements to lifecycle support.
• Lead resolution of complex technical issues through development and launch.
• Set certification strategy and ensure standards evidence is incorporated early.
• Align engineering with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and schedules.
• Establish engineering KPIs for schedule, maturity, release quality, and cost.
• Drive modularity, platform reuse, design-to-cost, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends.
